'Dallas Morning News' Web Editor Moor Leaving for Yahoo

Anthony Moor, deputy managing editor/interactive at the Dallas Morning News and considered one of the top Web editors in the country, is leaving the paper for a job with Yahoo.

A memo to staffers late Wednesday from George Rodrigue, Morning News managing editor, announced the move. Rodrigue wrote that Moor "has dramatically improved dallasnews.com." He also noted that Moor, a former Web editor at the Orlando Sentinel, had also increased monthly unique users by 186% since arriving in July 2007.

His new Yahoo post, according to the memo, will be to head up that Web site's local news efforts. Moor could not be reached for comment, but his office confirmed the information. He is expected to stay on until Thanksgiving, at which time Linda Leavell will take over. -Joe Strupp
