Playing (Beethoven) for 'Peanuts'

Schroeder Wonderful article (and slide show online) coming in Wednesday's NYT on the longtime connection of the 'Peanuts' comic strip with Beethoven, coming out of a well-publicized exhibition in San Jose.  Turns out that some of Schroeder's punch lines -- and the seemingly random notes above his head -- came straight from Beethoven.  And, of course, Charles M. Schulz celebrated Beethoven's birthday in the strip at least 27 times.  Here is the music behind one of the strips, a small part of the epic "Hammerklavier."
