Palin's Hometown Paper Carries Op-Ed By Teen On Anti-Obama Racism in School

Obama_timecover1124 You have to give them credit: The weekly based in Wasilla, Alaska, which boosted hometowner Sarah Palin throughout the election campaign, provided column space this week to a local student who alleged anti-Obama racial comments the day after his election.  In the Frontiersman op-ed, Waverli Rainey wrote

Finally the campaign was over and I was actively supporting our new president, even though I knew I would be vastly out numbered at school. I expected complaints and qualms about the new president, but I was not prepared for the flat-out racist remarks said openly in the halls and classrooms. I was appalled. While I sat at my desk trying to do my work I could hear my fellow classmates:

“I think we should kill Obama,” one said.

“I hope someone comes up and shoots him in the head,” another would say.

“I hate Obama … he’s black.”

On went the racist words for the full 80 minutes of that class. Angered, I began to think of the injustice of it all and the ignorance of the students I was surrounded by. I wondered where they learned to be so hateful, and I wondered why the teacher never stepped in - why no adult, no student, including myself, had the guts to cut in and say it was not OK. Because it’s never OK for intolerance.

And when will a leader within the Bush Administration -- perhaps the Attorney General, perhaps the C.I.C. himself -- address the nation about reports coming in from across the nation to this effect?

Who holds the moral high ground these days? Anyone?

WILL THE ELECTION EVEN MATTER?

Not as long as government-supported extrajudicial "vigilante injustice" targeting squads are "community/gang stalking" American citizens, making a mockery of the rule of law:

Greg Mitchell -- I might consider you an objective journalist if, during the last eight years, you had provided equal coverage to similar examples of the anti-Bush sentiment around the country. The depth of your bias never ceases to amaze me.

well, here's the difference, Bob: anti Bush sentiment was based upon his ACTIONS, like subverting the Constitution and lying to the country to justify a war, and too many other things to mention.

The anti-Obama sentiments this child is reporting are racism, pure and simple. Nothing to do with anything Obama has actually done yet.

Well, veh: what about the 550 metric tons of yellow cake found in Iraq in 2003? If that does not justify a war than you can just move out and live over there. Bush has done what he needs to do for this country. A 16 year old girl writes about how she can't believe people are racist. Not a suprise from a 16 yr old. If you read in depth, she was only excited to see history made. She could care less what Obama stands for and what he wants to do to this country. Like I said, she is 16.
