"Que Sarah, Sarah"
We're now into Day 9 of America's Media Held Hostage (i.e., denied any chance to interview or even chat with Sarah Palin). McCain campaign manager Rick Davis says Palin won't give any interviews until she feels "comfortable" giving
one. This morning he added that she wouldn't give any "until the
point in time when she'll be treated with respect and deference." UPDATE: Later, the McCain team said that it had an interview with Charlie Gibson ABC set for late in the week.
Meanwhile, the media vetting, making up for the apparent lack of same from the GOP, will continue (with the Anchorage daily leading the pack) -- or will the press by intimidated? Here's Clark Hoyt's take in this morning's NYT public editor column:
"By choosing a running mate unknown to most of the nation, and doing so just before the Republican National Convention, John McCain made it inevitable that there would be a frantic media vetting. It turns out that Palin was for the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it, that she sent e-mail complaining about a lack of disciplinary action against a state trooper who was going through a messy custody battle with her sister, and that she never made a decision as commander in chief of the Alaska National Guard, one of her qualifications cited by McCain.
"The drip-drip-drip of these stories seems like partisanship to Palin’s partisans. But they fill out the picture of who she is, and they represent a free press doing its job, investigating a candidate who might one day be the leader of the Free World." -- Greg Mitchell
Greg Mitchell could not be more of a liberal hack if he tried. This summary is straight off the left-wing blogs. If that is going to be the mode of operation for this blog, why not venture over to HotAir or Free Republic sometime to see how Obama is doing in the areas of truth and candor?

How dare you question the veracity or qualifications of a self-proclaimed hockey mom???
The Ancient Mariner McCain has vetted her throughly, loved her smile, decided her ready. No expert less than Beer Baroness Cindy McCain has herself indicated the foreign policy readiness of this fine looking damoiselle by virtue of her geography, undeniably right there across the Bering Strait. Indeed Ms. Palin is ready to work with Iran, North Korea, Russia, France, and all the rest to make the world a safer and better place. That is, as soon as she has identified the whereabouts of Iran, North Korea, Russia, France and all the rest.

Just what the world needs - another "news" web-site to beat up on Sarah Palin. The Obama folks, DNC and the Daily KOS are doing a heck of a job, along with a little (lot) of help from the "home town gang".
Congrats to all for showing the face of Alaska.
